What types of Things can be Donated?
If you have decided that you want to donate some of you're items, there are a few key questions you have to ask yourself. 1. would I personally use this Item? 2. Is it in Good-Decent Condition? 3. What Type of Donation Center would Best fit this? These questions will help you decide what's still good, what needs to be thrown away, and what type of person would benefit from getting this item at a discount price.

Is the Item Good? Would you personally use this item if you were the one purchasing it? A lot of times people look at donation drop-offs like a garbage dump, they don't want to pay to have it disposed responsibly so they "donate" it to a local thrift store or charity. Not only is this disrespectful, but it costs the charity or thrift store money to then have to have it disposed of. One example of this was when Mission Thrift in Orrville had to hire Olsen's Junk Removal to remove a full load of junk that people dropped off. If it's broken, or if you personally wouldn't use it, Throw it Away!
Answering questions 2 and 3 are also important. Are the items in good condition? that also means, Are the Items outdated? Lets be honest, you would not use and old box TV. So don't try to give it to a thrift store because they are so Old, Heavy, and Outdated that nobody spoil;d ever purchase it. Used Flat screens are cheap enough anyway. The Last Question is: Where can I take Donatables? The items you have should effect the pace you take it to, Example: Olsen's Junk Removal takes all of their good furniture to Habitat for Humanity Restore in Canton or Wooster (https://www.waynehabitat.com) (https://www.restoreeco.org). They are able to sell furniture at a cheap price very quickly compared to some thrift stores. Olsen's junk removal donates sealed goods like soaps, toilet paper, and towels to CommQuest Services in Stark County. They use these goodsa directly for their Rehab patients so they could use them more than a Thrift or Re Store (https://www.commquest.org) Lastly Clothing: Olsen's Junk Removal has connections to local Clothing Resellers, but for the average donator they would recommend taking them to Goodwill (https://www.goodwillgoodskills.org) I hope This Help you decide what to donate and where to take it.
